Xiaobo obtained his master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. As a master student, Xiaobo worked in Dr. Kewen Zhao’s lab and his research was focused on transcriptional regulation of tumor progression and drug resistance in clear cell renal cell carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma. Now Xiaobo is a Ph.D candidate in Cancer Biology at MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHelath Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Xiaobo joined the Giancotti lab for his Ph.D dissertation in 2017 and currently he is mainly working on two projects: 1) Integrin-mediated mechanotransdcution controls YAP activation and invasive growth of breast cancer; 2) Tumor suppressive function of NF2 and BAP1 in mesothelioma.
